Raising awareness of illnesses that you have been through isn’t the easiest task.
To get the balance between showing the true pain but without scaring people or invalidating their own battles. To get the message across of trying to help people understand so that sufferers get better treatment, as opposed to it being for sympathy. To show the hope within the despair but without taking away from how severe and enduring the illnesses are.

It is also really difficult to explain such complicated illnesses that have been endured over years with so many layers, while also not being able to find the right words to do so. Though I have released the first autobiography, “At War With My Mind”, this is a very detailed account of suffering from mental illness and took many years to write.
Yaakovuk helped me find a way to share across a wider audience and have more of a visual impact in a concise way by creating high quality videos using photos to meaningful songs.

They have created a few videos for me so far and it has been great to feel the trust in them with something so personal as they worked alongside me to ensure I felt it was right. The feedback has shown that it is working to make a difference.

– “At War With My Mind” about my journey battling Anorexia and Depression.
– “Broken Ones” about the journey after recovering, the importance of helping others and also the start of my physical illness.
– And most recently, “At War With My Body”, about Rare Disease after I was diagnosed with Classical Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. This will be shown at the awareness concert, “Thinking Too Much”, in the UK on 29th October.

I really can’t thank Yaakovuk enough, words cannot express how much it means to me to have your help with my mission to raise awareness and help others suffering to get better treatment.
